Gender Associations is dedicated to supporting institutions and individuals to develop their capacities to promote and realize gender equality, human security and sustainable, positive peace.
While the existing normative framework for the realization of gender equality, human rights, peace and security provides a clear road map to sustainable peace, the necessary steps to take on the path to peace are not the same in every context.
We believe that a crosscutting and complex area of work, such as gender, peace and security, requires high level technical expertise, multilateral collaboration, diverse perspectives and critical self-reflection. Therefore, we work with a variety of national and international specialists from different cultural, academic and professional backgrounds.
Gender Associations is comprised of an international network of freelance consultants who possess diverse skills and areas of expertise and are selected to join the team based on the needs and thematic and geographic focus of the project. We invite candidates to >apply to our expert roster!
In addition, our >Lead Associates are based in different geographic regions around the world and provide thematic and technical support, as well as guidance on the strategic direction of Gender Associations. They all have post-graduate degrees in different academic areas and a minimum of 10 years of practical work experience on gender, peace and security issues in different countries and contexts.
