Denise Hirao is a Brazilian lawyer with over 20 years of experience in human rights and gender justice. She has worked on a variety of human rights topics and has an extensive background in the fields of sexual and reproductive health and rights as well as violence against women in Brazil, Latin America and globally. Her past work included grant making, program management and litigation for civil society, governmental, inter-governmental and private institutions. Denise holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Human Rights Law and a Law Degree. She is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
